My second scarf was quickly finished with 5.5 mm needles and three skeins of Novita Puro. The pattern was quite addictive, you make a triange starting from the bottom, decrease in every row until you have one stitch left, then pick up stitches from one side of the triangle and do another one. The pattern is from Novita Talvi 2010. The yarn isn't one of my favourites, it has too many knots and the yarn got really thin at some points.
What a fun pattern!! I've also been trying not to buy yarn, but did buy some in Helsinki this weekend - will have to start things with it right away - like your rule!
